Department General Information
The Graduation Department of Management of Organizations of Lviv Institute of Private Joint-Stock Company “Higher Educational Institution “Interregional Academy of Personnel Management” was established in 2004 by reorganizing the Department of Economics.
On June 1st, 2021, the Department of Management of Organizations and the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship were liquidated, the Department of Management, Economics and Tourism was established.
Since 2007, the department is headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Danyliuk Lesia Hryhorivna.
Since 2004, the department is a graduate in the training of bachelors, specialists and retraining specialists in management, expanding the list of specializations, focusing on the staffing needs of the labor market of the Western region of Ukraine, and since 2017 in the training of masters.
During these years the staff of the department actively worked in the educational and methodological and scientific spheres, participated in important regional and national programs for the development of the national economy.
The educational process is carried out in order to train highly professional managers who will contribute to the growth of Ukraine as a prosperous state with a competitive economy integrated into the global economic space, fostering respect for the chosen profession etc.
The structure of the educational process of training is aimed at meeting the requirements of educational and qualification characteristics and educational and professional programs for bachelor and specialist, which are developed on the basis of modern domestic and international experience and meet the requirements of State educational standards.
The educational process is fully provided with appropriate methodological developments and manuals. Specialists are trained according to programs that meet modern world standards. The advanced teaching methods such as - testing, rapid surveys, game techniques, case methods are widely used in the educational process. Lectures are conducted using modern technical means. In addition to traditional forms of training the methods of active learning are widely used. Performing simulation exercises, analysis of specific situations that arise in practice in the activities of managers of various profiles, discussion round tables are among them. Teachers update and develop new methodological materials, work on writing and publishing monographs, textbooks, manuals.
Highly qualified managers are trained, competitive in the domestic and world labor markets, who successfully navigate the trends of science and technology, have computer programs, know several foreign languages, have their own opinion and respect the opinion of others. The managers of future must be entrepreneurs in their way of life. They should assume that there is no guarantee or prospect of holding a certain position for a long time in a particular company. Corporations will need different types of managers at different stages of corporate life. A person who aspires to play a leading role in the business world must be able to adapt to rapid market changes and personal situations, to perceive and apply new forms of work, to resist new types of pressure that require flexible intelligence.
The teaching staff of the Department of Management, Economics and Tourism is formed of highly educated specialists with PhD degrees, significant practical and scientific experience, which allows them to effectively manage the scientific work of students, perform a significant amount of educational and methodological work etc. Teachers of the department focus on world standards, actively work on improving education, enriching its content in accordance with modern requirements, the introduction of innovative technologies and methods in their work on training specialists. They create the conditions for comprehensive training, provide an organic combination of fundamental, general economic and professional training, harmonization of the educational process that allows future professionals to gain in-depth knowledge of professionally oriented disciplines, master the profession and have a broad outlook.
The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department provides teaching of professional disciplines for applicants of the first (bachelor’s) level: “Fundamentals of Management”, “Personnel Management”, “Operational Management”, “Fundamentals of Business Planning”, “Management of Organizations”; the second (master’s) level: “Project Management”, “Quality Management”, “Change Management”, “Strategic Management”, “Investment Management”, “Innovation Management”, “Business Management”, “Anti Crisis Management”, “Motivational Management”, etc.
The students undergo industrial and undergraduate internships at enterprises, organizations and institutions of industrial and non-industrial spheres to acquire practical skills in the specialty. Graduates of the department have the opportunity to continue their study in graduate school.
The activity of the Department of Management, Economics and Tourism, which is a graduating department in the specialties 073 “Management”, 072 “Finance, Banking and Insurance”, 242 “Tourism”, is aimed at improving the training quality of specialists of the relevant educational and qualification level. Thus, the teaching staff of the department carried out fruitful work in the direction of improving the quality of education, namely:
• development of educational and methodical support of the educational process - programs of academic disciplines, programs of practices, textbooks, methodical instructions, etc .;
• providing individual consultations for students, in order to increase their level of preparation and disclosure of individual creative abilities;
• organization and functioning of the student scientific society;
• organization and holding of annual student scientific conferences, which directly involve students of specialty 073 “Management”;
• annual involvement of students in the first and second rounds of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad.
The results of the fruitful work of the teaching staff of the department are directly reflected in the results of educational activities for the preparation of bachelors in specialties 073 "Management", 072 "Finance, Banking and Insurance", 242 "Tourism". This is evidenced, in particular, by the annual increase in the number of students covered by scientific work, improving the quality and success of education.
Nowadays the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Management, Economics and Tourism conducts researches on research topics “The mechanism of the development of innovative methods and management models in the digital economy of Ukraine”, supervised by Danyliuk L.H., Ph.D. econ. Sciences, Associate Professor and “Financial support of enterprises in the context of global challenges”, supervised by Mahas N.V., Ph.D. econ. Sciences, Associate Professor.
The department annually holds an international scientific and practical conference “Social Transformations and Security: Man, State, Society” with the publication of conference materials.
The experience has shown that the topics of the conferences were of interest to students from various higher educational institutions. In addition to IAPM students, the conference is attended by the students of Ivan Franko Lviv National University, Lviv University of Trade and Economics, National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, Lviv Institute of Banking, University of Banking of NBU, Lviv National Agrarian University.
Also the students of the department take an active part in international, interuniversity conferences, round tables of different levels. Significant work is carried out annually by the department on the preparation and holding of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Management on the basis of IAPM, namely: development of tasks for the first stage of the Olympiad, development of criteria for assessing students' control tasks and checking and evaluating tasks.
The department has a student research group “Economics and Management in the XXI century”, the main task of which is to focus on in-depth study of academic disciplines. Participants of the scientific group are also involved in the implementation of topics of scientific work of the department, organization and holding of annual scientific events, in particular, the International scientific and practical conference “Social Transformations and Security: Man, State, Society”.
In order to ensure the employment of graduates the institute has a center for the organization of practice, employment of students and work with graduates, which by involving organizations, institutions, enterprises of various forms of ownership, has its own base of vacancies.
Scientific activity is aimed at basic scientific research. Teachers of the department work on research topics of the department “Mechanism of development of innovative methods and management models in the digital economy of Ukraine”, “Financial support of enterprises in the context of global challenges”, the project of regional development “Development of the bioeconomy of the Western region of Ukraine: the production of eco-containers from biodegradable polymers” and individual scientific topics. Students of the Institute are involved in the scientific work of the department.
The most important areas of research are management, management systems, functional approach, migration processes. Teachers of the department systematically publish scientific articles, methodical developments, textbooks, monographs, participate in international, national and regional scientific conferences.
The social expediency of the department is determined by the need for intellectual and spiritual development of youth, the need for national revival, statehood and democratization of society, providing the region with highly qualified personnel.
The Department of Management, Economics and Tourism is located at Lviv, Mazepy st., 29.
The department is equipped with the necessary computer and office equipment, as well as an Internet access channel.
