WHAT POTENTIAL DOES THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT, ECONOMICS AND TOURISM HAVE?

When we want to determine the characteristics of any profession, it is advisable firstly to find out why this profession arose. This is necessary for each of you also because the person who chooses a certain profession or specialty, must be clearly aware of the content of job in the chosen profession, the features of this profession.

Thus, the term "profession" translated from Latin, French means "to speak publicly, to declare, to announce" (Ye.O. Klimov). That is, the emergence of a profession is socially determined. Society is aware of the need for a particular profession, and it is formalized as a separate type of work. As for the profession of manager, its separation took place in the twentieth century on the basis of a social order from representatives of various spheres of human life and work, namely: management, education, health, sports, etc.

Progressive development of any society is possible under many objective conditions. One of the most important of them is the formation of competitive advantages of economic entities to increase the efficiency of their development.

Managers who have modern methods of management, are able to manage all types of economic resources of enterprises, to make an informed choice of the main directions of their development

The effectiveness of management depends entirely on how reasonably future managers will make management decisions, have management methodology, appropriate methods and technologies of personnel management, will properly use such values as professionalism, professional opportunities of people, how well-thought-out the personnel policy will be in terms of managing the creative potential and professional experience of employees.

The number of exams in the exam session, as a rule, does not exceed 4-5. Applicants for higher education are required to take credits and exams in accordance with the requirements of the working curriculum within the timeframe provided by the schedule of the educational process. The content of credits and exams is determined by the working curricula of disciplines.

Applicants for higher education are allowed to take the credit and / or examination of the discipline, if they have fully performed all types of work provided for in the working curriculum and working curriculum. Compilation of tests is carried out at the last laboratory, practical, seminar classes in disciplines and is completed before the examination session. Applicants for higher education who, without good reason, did not pass the credit in the disciplines provided for in the curriculum, are not allowed to take the examination session.

The schedule of examinations is approved by the director of the institute / dean of the faculty not later than one month before the beginning of the examination session and is brought to the notice of scientific-pedagogical / pedagogical workers and applicants for higher education.

The schedule of the examination session provides time to prepare for each exam lasting at least three days, including weekends. Amendments to the schedules of credit-examination sessions are possible only with the written consent of the Academy management (vice-rector / rector).

During the exam / credit, applicants for higher education have the right to use curricula in the discipline. With the permission of the examiners, higher education students can use reference books, technical teaching aids. The use by the applicant of higher education during the examination / credit of any information materials without the permission of the persons conducting the control event entails its termination. In this case the applicant against the names of higher education in the examination test-stamped data recording "unsatisfactory" / "failed" and corresponding teacher's signature.

Exams for full-time and part-time higher education students can be conducted in oral and written (electronic) form on examination tickets developed by the teacher of the department and approved in accordance with the requirements. The set consists of 30 examination tickets regardless of the number of the academic group.

The examination ticket may provide a combination of examination questions and test tasks of different types (open, closed, selective, compliance).

The number of examination questions, practical and test tasks of different types in the examination ticket and the criteria for evaluating the answers to them are determined by the scientific and pedagogical / pedagogical worker who is responsible for teaching the discipline.

After completing the semester certification in the discipline, the assessment of the applicant for mastering the discipline on a 100-point scale (as well as grades for other types of educational work) is translated into national grades ("Excellent", "Good", "Satisfactory", "Unsatisfactory") and ECTS scores (" ", " ", " ", " ", " ", " FX ", " ").

The results of the tests are evaluated on a national two-point scale: "Enrolled" or "Not credited" and the corresponding ECTS scores. The grade for the internship, regardless of its type, is set based on the results of the defence of the higher education student's written report to the commission of the department, which is formed by its head (not more than three people), in a timely manner. Participation in the work of the commission of the head of industrial practice is obligatory.

Applicants for higher education, who according to the results of the examination session have debts in 1-2 disciplines, may be given the right to eliminate them within a specified period.

In case of receiving an unsatisfactory grade, re-taking the exam (test) is allowed no more than twice. In the second re-examination, the examination (credit) of the applicant may be taken by a commission created by the director of the institute / dean of the faculty. The evaluation of the commission is final.

If the applicant Higher Education was admitted to semester control, but there was no good reason, it is believed that he used the first attempt to pass the exam (test) and arrears.

In cases of conflict, upon a motivated application of a higher education applicant or research and teaching staff, the director of the institute / dean of the faculty creates a commission to take the exam (test), which includes the head of the department, teachers, representatives of the dean's office and student council.

The procedure for converting the indicators of the normalized 100-point rating scale into the traditional 4-point scale and the European ECTS scale is set (indicated in the table):

If there are valid reasons (illness, family circumstances, etc.) that are documented, the director of the institute / dean of the faculty may set an individual schedule for exams (tests) or liquidation of academic debts lasting no more than a month from the beginning of the next semester. If this period is insufficient to fulfill the individual schedule, the issue of granting a higher education academic leave or re-course is considered.

Applicants for higher education who have fully complied with the requirements of the curriculum of the current course and the terms of the agreement (contract) for training, by order of the Rector of the Academy are transferred to the next course.

During the examination sessions, an independent test assessment of the knowledge of higher education students can be conducted, as a quality control of the educational process of the departments, the passage of which is mandatory for all higher education students.

The results of semester control should be regularly discussed at meetings of departments, academic councils of institutes / faculties and the Academic Council of the Academy and one of the important factors in managing the quality of the educational process in IAPM.

PROCEDURE FOR CONDUCTING INDEPENDENT WORK OF STUDENTS

Independent work of the student (further - IWS) is means of independent mastering by the applicant of higher education of educational material in extracurricular time which is included in the curriculum for studying of a certain discipline, or in an audience under the direct supervision of the teacher; is more than 50% of the budget of time allocated to a particular discipline in the working curriculum, taking into account the specifics and content of a particular discipline, its place, importance and didactic purpose in the implementation of the educational program.

The purpose of IW- systematic and consistent mastering of the full material within the curriculum and the formation of students' independence as a character trait that plays an important role in forming a modern specialist capable of creative thinking, free orientation in the information space and making important independent decisions in non-standard professional situations.

Forms of IWS:

- independent work in the classroom under the direct guidance of the teacher and in his/her presence;

- extracurricular work carried out by the student independently, without the teacher, but under his/her general guidance and control, including remotely.

The content of IWin a particular discipline is determined by the work program and guidelines and may consist of the following types of work:

- preparation for classroom classes (lectures, practical, seminar, laboratory, etc.);

- performance of practical tasks in the discipline during the semester;

- independent study of certain topics of the discipline in accordance with the working curriculum;

- translation of foreign texts of the established volumes;

- performance of control works by students of the correspondence form of training;

- preparation for all types of control tests, including course, modular and complex control works;

- performance of tasks provided by the program of practice;

- work in student research circles, seminars, etc .;

- participation in electives, special seminars, etc .;

- participation in scientific and scientific-methodical work of departments, faculties and academies;

- participation in scientific and scientific-practical conferences, seminars, competitions, Olympiads, etc .;

- preparation for the final certification, including the implementation of final qualifying work for the appropriate degree of higher education;

- other activities initiated by the academy, faculty, department and student government.

For part-time students, the tasks should be formulated in such a way that the student has the opportunity to independently study the content of the discipline.

Organizational types of independent student work

Student work, which is performed independently in free time, usually outside the classroom, however, sometimes, taking into account the specifics of the discipline - in the laboratory or workshop; student's individual work is a classroom independent work on individual tasks under the guidance of a teacher, during which the student can receive methodological assistance in the form of consultations on the implementation of this work, while the consultations are individual. It may include the study of individual sections of the discipline, classroom design, work with the use of computer technology, etc. and take into account the specific requirements of a particular discipline.

Individual educational tasks in certain disciplines are extracurricular IWS of educational, educational and research nature. They aim to deepen, generalize and consolidate the knowledge that students receive in the learning process, as well as the application of this knowledge in practice. Individual tasks are given to students in the terms provided by the working plan of discipline, and are carried out by each student independently at consultation with the teacher. In cases where the tasks are complex, they involve several students, including other specialties or faculties.

Individual learning tasks can have the following types:

- synopsis on the topic according to the plan set or actually developed by the student;

- abstract on a topic or a narrow problem;

- performing computational or practical (situational) tasks of different levels of complexity on any topic;

- development of theoretical or applied functional (operating) models, phenomena, processes, structures, etc .;

- complex description of structure, properties, functions, phenomena, objects, constructions;

- annotation of the read additional literature on the discipline, bibliographic description, etc .;

- abstracting foreign texts on professional topics;

- development of educational and diagnostic test tasks.

One of the types of individual and independent work with students is the use of modern learning technologies introduced at the academy. It is a modular learning environment Moodle, which is created by teachers to help students and is based on the use of modern information technology and computer-based learning tools.

The methods of IW, which contribute to the individualization and intensification of the educational process, include: problem-searching; project training; collective mental activity; application of the latest information and communication technologies in education.

Problem-searching methods are aimed at activating the cognitive activity of students. Their use encourages students to conduct independent research, increases the motivation for further work, promotes the development of logical thinking, as a consequence, the development of their creative independent activity:

- work with information sources: processing of primary sources (textbooks, periodicals and scientific literature, reference books, videos, etc.) in preparation for practical classes and individual tasks in accordance with the work program;

- study of regulatory and legal framework; elaboration of Internet resources on certain issues of the discipline,

- elaboration of theoretical bases of the listened lecture material;

- independent solution of practical tasks (performance of analytical work; solution and writing of tasks, diagrams, diagrams, other graphic works; practice training; independent processing of tests in accordance with the topic of practical training; independent solution of typical problems, situational exercises; preparation for the current and final controls);

- translation of foreign professional texts, etc.

Project training methods are aimed at achieving the projected results of the IWS based on the experience already gained. Their use is impractical and impossible without a clear definition of didactic tasks that students solve in educational activities for different types of projects:

- preparation of a critical essay, digest on the article of foreign and domestic authors on certain topics;

- preparation of a report, presentation, portfolio on the chosen topic;

- writing a term paper (project);

- writing a final qualification project (work);

- conducting own research in preparation for competitions and conferences, competitions of scientific works, participation in round tables and forums;

- preparation of reports for scientific seminars, meetings of scientific circles, clubs;

- preparation of regulations for laboratory work, as well as registration of relevant protocols and preparation for their protection;

- analysis of a specific production, technological, problem situation and preparation of relevant analytical materials.

The development of individual project tasks should be based on the teacher's personality-oriented approach, based on the principles of partnership between teachers and students.

Methods of team mental activity. The essence of the methods lies in the team creativity of students, aimed at solving certain problems of increased complexity. Their use contributes to the identification and development of creative thinking, abilities of students, increasing the level of their independence and intellectual development, the formation of teamwork skills, improving communication skills, emotional state of students. Methods of team mental activity are characterized by novelty, greater mobility in choosing areas of problem solving, creativity of participants. Such methods include:

- formation of team projects;

- group situational tasks;

- business games;

- trainings;

- brain-rings;

- etc.

Methods of application of the newest information and communication technologies in training give the chance of differentiation, deepening individualization of training, expansion of possibilities of the control and self-control, use of creative tasks.

Computer technologies act as a convenient and powerful means of obtaining a certain result, and also contribute to:

- visualization of the educational material offered by the teacher;

- a combination of different ways of perceiving information;

- increasing the motivation of students to work independently by bringing it closer to the real conditions of future professional activity.

The main form of control and evaluation of independent work of students is to conduct control activities. Control measures include current and final control.

Current control is carried out during practical, laboratory and seminar classes and aims to check the level of readiness of the student to perform specific work. The form of current control during training sessions and the system of assessment of the level of knowledge are determined by the relevant department.

Final control is carried out in order to assess learning outcomes at a certain educational (qualification) level or at some of its completed stages. Final control includes semester control and student certification.

IWS control is carried out depending on the type of independent work and provides the following forms : testing; control and calculation works; control questions after each lecture; interview; protection of term papers and projects; checking the performance of individual tasks during practice; business games and creative scientific conferences; colloquia; tasks involving non-standard solutions; reports on the performance of laboratory and other types of work; filling in a notebook on independent work; other forms.

Grades (points) obtained by students for performing various types of independent work can be taken into account when calculating the overall rating score of the student in the discipline.

Dear student, take a piece of advice!

This advice can be expressed in two words - Think independently.

This may sound simple. But you will see - and probably in high school, you have already faced this - thinking independently can be a significant challenge. It has always required self-discipline, and nowadays also courage.

Especially now, anyone really wants to form his/her views in unison with the views of the surroundings. Conformism, bending and stereotyped thinking are the danger not only for the student but also for the teacher.

In many universities, what John Stuart Mill called "the tyranny of public opinion" discourages students from arguing over dominant views on morality, politics, and other issues.

As a result, the dominant views are perceived as so obviously correct that it seems as if only fanatics or eccentrics can question them.

And no one wants to label themselves a fanatic or a weirdo, so a simple, lazy reaction is to succumb to accepted views and traditions.

Don't do that. Think independently.

Thinking on one's own involves questioning dominant ideas, even when others insist that they are unquestionable.

Thinking on your own means deciding what to believe, not by adapting to trends, but by making some effort to study the situation and honestly evaluate the arguments of both sides of the issue, including arguments about opinions that others seek to either stigmatize or protect from criticism.

The love of truth and the desire to comprehend it should motivate you to think independently. The main idea of higher education is to search for the truth and master the relevant skills and virtues that help to become a seeker of truth for life.

Openness of views, critical thinking and debate are keys to finding the truth.

What's more, they are our best antidote to bigotry.

The first definition given by the Merriam-Webster dictionary for the concept of bigot is a person who is "persistently and fanatically committed to his own attitudes and prejudices."

The only ones who are afraid of open research and criticism, of deep constructive debate, are these zealous ones, whether in university circles or in society at large, who try to defend the hegemony of their beliefs by accusing others of questioning them.

So do not succumb to the tyranny of public opinion. Do not close in an airtight environment. When accepting or rejecting an opinion, make sure that you do so as a result of a critical evaluation of the arguments.

Think independently.

Good luck in higher education! ”
